THIS IS THE NEWS!

Down to Three......Rick Moves On

Well, our long-time friend and bass player Rick Lane has moved out of the area. He now resides in Arizona and is attending the Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences in Phoenix. He will study for seven months and then serve a four month internship, ultimately qualifying him to do live and studio work with big league artists. We wish Rick all the best as he moves on to this new and exciting stage of his life. You are missed, bro!

The Search Begins

So as Mr. Lane rides off into the sunset (at least for now) the search has begun for a new bass player. We are finding this a tricky proposition. Rick is not only a fantastic musician, but also a vocalist who can find a harmony. Replacing him is no simple thing, but if you think that you or someone you know might fit the bill, let us know at kcurtiss@cybernet1.com.

Serotonin Rising

Several of our tunes were recently included in the independent film Serotonin Rising, which is a sort of docu-drama about the wonderful chemicals our brains release when we do good for others. Filmmaker Tony Perri is premiering the film at the Vail Film Festival at the end of March/beginning of April. We are really pleased to have four of our songs featured in the movie. You can check out the trailer for the film at serotoninrising.com

Soundtrack CD

Accompanying the release of the Serotonin Rising film is the Serotonin Rising Soundtrack CD. It is  a compilation of the tunes from the movie which includes music by singer/songwriter/pianist Russell Perri, up-and-coming teen pop icon Roxy King, and your friends the Kent Curtiss Band. We've also recorded a special bonus track for the CD. The official release date for the CD is April 2, 2011 but it will be available online about mid-march at iTunes and then other online sources (Amazon, etc.) over the following weeks.
